Permissions and Copyright

We are delighted that you love our books and wish to share our content with your students, circles, or community. We strongly believe in the dissemination of authentic Islamic knowledge.

However, all of our content is subject to Copyright Law. These laws protect the rights of our authors and allow us to continue investing in and publishing new, quality literature.

The Legal Standard: What You Cannot Do

Please be aware that reproducing, copying, recording, or translating a substantial part of any book without written permission is a violation of copyright law. This applies to:

Making Photocopies of chapters or entire books for classes, study circles, or workshops.
Recording Audio or Video of a book being read aloud, then sharing it publicly (e.g. on YouTube or social media).
Scanning or Digitally Distributing the book content (including sharing PDFs or images online).

Kindly note: Purchasing a book grants you the right to read it, but not the right to reproduce or share it publicly.

When Permission is Not Needed (Fair Use/Dealing)

You generally do not need our permission for the following activities, which are covered under the principle of Fair Dealing (the UK equivalent of Fair Use):

Quoting Briefly: Using very short extracts (e.g. a few sentences or a paragraph) for non-commercial purposes like criticism, review, or teaching, provided you clearly credit the author and Ta-Ha Publishers.
Personal Study: Making a copy of a small portion for your own personal research or private study.

If you are unsure whether your use constitutes fair dealing, it is always safest to request permission.

How to Request Permission

To maintain clear legal records, all requests for substantial use (such as reproducing a chapter, recording an audiobook, or licencing for translation) must go through our formal permissions process.
