Translation Rights and Foreign Language Licensing
We are thrilled by the global interest in translating Ta-Ha Publishers’ books. We believe our content should reach every community worldwide, and we actively seek international publishing partners to achieve this mission.
Our Licensing Model
Ta-Ha Publishers does not publish foreign language translations ourselves. Instead, we licence the translation and publication rights to foreign-language publishing houses. This ensures that the local market is served by experts in that region.
The Request Process
If you are a publishing house interested in acquiring the rights to translate and publish one of our titles, please use the form below. This ensures your proposal can be processed efficiently.
Initial Information Required
Legal and Contractual Understanding
Please note the following standard requirements for all licensing agreements:
- Rights Holder: You understand that Ta-Ha Publishers holds the English-language copyright, and we will grant a license for a specific period within defined territories.
- Quality Assurance: You will be responsible for the accuracy of the translation. The final translated text will need to be approved by us or our designated representative.
Financial Terms: A standard agreement typically involves a one advance fee in lieu of a percentage royalty on sales. These terms will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Important Clarifications
- Individuals/Non-Publishers: If you are an individual (not a registered publishing house) who wishes to translate a book, you must first secure a publishing partner in your region who is willing to acquire the licence from us. We licence to publishers, not individuals.
- Exclusivity: We grant exclusive rights to a publisher for a specific title in a specific language and territory, ensuring the licensee has full market opportunity.
