Abia

Managing Director

Abia has an MEng in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London with a placement at Sapienza, Università di Roma, as well as a PhD in fluid instability also from Imperial College. She joined Ta-Ha as the editor in 2003 and became the Managing Director in 2022 after her father retired from the position. She loves cooking, conversations and cake.

Qaisar

Sales Director

Qaisar has a BA (Hons) in Retail Management, which he achieved at the age of 42, proving that we are students at every stage of life. He has a wealth of experience in the retail sector, managing large teams and overseeing operations. When he is not looking after his customers, he is a proud father to 4 beautiful children and a devoted husband. His spare time is dedicated to cooking, walking and biking in the countryside.

Arooj

Editorial Director

Arooj graduated from King’s College London with a BA in English Literature and Language. She pursued her passion for inspiring young people through literature by completing her Secondary English PGCE at UCL, going on to teach English, Literacy and Media at Secondary school, with experience in A-Level teaching and Primary education. She enjoys being cultured and creative, often attending the theatre and finding comfort in performance, poetry and art. She’s a keen traveller, and has an eye for illustrated literature and design.

Ali

Warehouse Manager

Ali has been lovingly looking after our on-site warehouse for 30 years and what he doesn’t know about inventory, shipping and logistics isn’t worth knowing. He loves working out and supports Arsenal. He is fluent in Bosnian.

Shakir

Design Director

Shakir graduated with a BA (Hons) in Graphic and Media Design from London College of Communication, University of the Arts, London. He has been designing Ta-Ha books for 18 years. When he is not creating catchy covers and innovative inners, he likes travelling and photography. His favourite travel destination is Andalusia, Spain, which he has had the pleasure of visiting and photographing several times.

A’yaan

IT Support and Photography

A’yaan is currently studying for a BSc in Computer Science, while also freelancing as an events photographer. He effortlessly solves all our tech queries and is the man behind the lovely photography you see on our Ta-Ha Stills. In his spare time, he is a curious traveller and a brilliant bread baker.

At a time when there were limited faith-based resources to learn and teach Islam to the Muslim community in English, Afsar & Jamal-un-Nisa Siddiqui founded one of the first Islamic publishing houses in the UK. Leaving behind professional careers, they paved the way for future generations to enjoy a wide range of Islamic literature. Almost fifty years later, we continue to provide the highest quality books worldwide and support literacy charities.
